Description

 SUMMARY 

Directs and coordinates performance activities of a specific area by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work alongside the team to achieve throughput, quality, Operational Excellence and other performance metrics. Work closely to help them achieve their best performance.
  • Hosts morning kick off meetings with the team. These meetings consist of a morning greeting, reviewing workload and F.I.T. reports as well ass communicating the schedule for the day with the team.
  • Monitor progress of work throughout the day, verify all rejected jobs are in the stoppage log and address any issues the team might be having.
  • Provide feedback to the manager summarizing the days performance.
  • Responsible for updating KPI’s as well as taking any necessary action to improve KPI’s. 
  • Attend production meetings, update any issues that arise in those meetings as well as report out anything that needs addressing from those meetings.
  • Perform monthly 1:1’s using proper documentation and address any action items with the appropriate people.
  • Complete annual reviews in conjunction with the Team Lead.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by team facilitator

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Will perform 1:1’s and address the team’s day to day issues.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with 5 or more years experience in manufacturing, preferably metal fabrication; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must completed Introduction to Leadership and Core Leadership Certification through the TEA as well as completed an additional 40 hours of leadership professional development.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, safety rules, work rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, communicates, and responds to questions from team members, customers, and suppliers. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must possess good problem-solving skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's License to be licensed as a qualified lift truck driver at DeWys Manufacturing, Inc.
