Overview
We are a data analytics firm that is seeking to add a Data Engineer to our Solutions team that will help enable us to leverage large data sets and Artificial Intelligence like Large Language Models.
Responsibilities
Develop and Maintain Data Architecture:
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
- Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.
Data Warehouse and Data Lake Development:
- Build and maintain robust data warehouses and data lakes that consolidate data from various sources.
- Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes.
Database Management:
- Develop and manage SQL and NoSQL databases to store and process data efficiently.
- Optimize database systems for performance and reliability.
Data Pipeline Construction:
- Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
Data Integration:
- Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
Data Transformation and Processing:
- Implement processes for data modeling, mining, and production.
- Transform data into a format that can be easily analyzed.
Data Security and Compliance:
- Implement data privacy policies and comply with data protection regulations.
- Ensure all automated processes preserve data by managing the alignment of data availability and integration processes.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work with data scientists, business analysts, and other team members to understand data needs.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support data applications and ensure seamless data integration.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
- Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analysts if necessary.
Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously improve system performance by implementing advanced data management techniques.
- Stay informed of the latest industry trends and technologies.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
- Document all processes and systems.
- Share knowledge and mentor junior team members in data engineering practices
Scope of Work
This is a full-time position working on developing internal and externally facing data driven solutions that can leverage automation and aritificial intelligence.
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to fulfill the listed responsibilities.
Able to think on your feet, adapt quickly, and learn new technologies.
Preferred: able to obtain a secret clearance.
Deliverables, Level of Effort, Schedule
This is a full-time position working Modnay - Friday, standard work hours. Employee must work in our HQ office in Arlington at least 40% of the time a month.
