Job Description

Coordinates the operations of all planned giving and endowment programs in the organization and works cooperatively with the appropriate staff on all programs and projects associated with them.

Essential Functions

Oversee the development, implementation, and administration of the Planned Giving Program.

Develop and cultivate prospective donors for major gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving, endowment contributions and develop and foster positive relationships.

Build and maintain a major gifts and planned giving contact/mailing list and prepare monthly status reports.

Work collaboratively with President and the Fundraising Committee on strategic planning and objective development.

Maintain routine and effective communication with President and the Fundraising Committee Director of Development on all matters of major gifts and planned giving efforts.

Help establish performance measures, monitors results and helps evaluate the effectiveness of the organization's fund development and donor recognition program.

Develop and maintain communication with DSNWK's donor base through the use of various communication tools and technologies.

Help identify and cultivate relationships in communities throughout northwest Kansas.

Keep informed of developments in philanthropy and fund development, as well as, maintain working knowledge of the current ID/DD service system.

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, maintain accountability standards to donors and ensure compliance with code of ethical principles and standards of professional conduct.

Work with the Fundraising Committee on the development of grant opportunities that further the mission of DSNWK including the application process and follow up reporting for grants awarded.

Serve as a representative to the Directors, Board of Directors and Executive Committee concerning major gifts and planned giving activities.

HIPAA Compliance

This position is responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all PHI and ePHI that is shared with this person. This position will have access to all PHI and ePHI for individuals as required for projects, grants, and donor contact.

Other Responsibilities

Complete other duties as assigned by the President.

Participate in professional associations.

This position is not subject to the two year training period as defined by KPERS.

Job Specifications

Education - BA or BS degree required. Masters degree preferred.

Experience - Include but not limited to; fund development and donor procurement. Exceptional oral and written communication. Understanding of human services preferably in the ID/DD field.

Extent of physical effort required - Routine job requirements. Little if any behavior or other physical intervention.

Adheres to DSNWK's Policy and Procedure, and conducts self to manner in accordance with DSNWK's mission and philosophy.

Acts as a role model within and outside of DSNWK.Maintains a professional, positive and respectful attitude.

Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize work load.

Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.

Meets Department productivity standards.

Valid drivers license.

Able to exercise good judgement and discretion in handling confidential information.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
