ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION

• Assists in daily operation of the Adult Day Health Care center, subject to the policies established by Deutsches Altenheim Services and in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare and applicable Federal, State, and Local standards.

• Provides nursing services to all participants as per order of physicians, assesses medical needs and safety factors for all participants.

• Responsible for recording of comprehensive nursing summaries on participants as required by State regulations.

• Supervises ancillary nursing personnel.

• Ensures participants are provided with the highest level of care and quality of life by embracing, adhering, and motivating compliance to the Deutsches Altenheim.

• Ensures each participant's right to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to lodge a complaint, are strictly enforced.

• Understanding of HIPAA and Corporate Compliance, Risk Management and Patient Safety.

• Adheres to Nurse Practice Act.ces

• Other special projects as identified and assigned by director.

Schedule: Full-time/RN Monday-Friday

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity and compliance with Nurse Practice Act.

• Graduate of a NLN approved school for professional nursing.

• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Nurse in Massachusetts.

• CPR certified.

• One (1) year of experience in long-term care, home care, or assisted living.

• Demonstrated skill in physical assessment.

• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to post acute care.

• Ability to function well in emergencies.

• Written and verbal communication skills.

• Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination.

Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.

• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Nursing Department and that are necessary for providing quality care.

• Ability to work independently.

• Demonstrates knowledge of computer systems, applications, and other office equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION

• Ability to move throughout workday and perform physical activities, including sitting, standing, bending, twisting, stooping, and lifting/moving/pushing/pulling up to 60 lbs. without assistance.

• Ability to see, hear, feel, read, write, and verbalize clearly in English.
