Destiny Services Job Posting – Direct Support Professional

Destiny Services is in search of a Direct Support Professional to join our Petersburg, VA Team. Duties include providing supervision, training, and support to individuals with developmental disability. More specifically, this position will work with adults in a group setting supervising within the center and on community outings and training and supporting in identified areas of need. Additionally, this position contributes to the development of treatment plans and quarterly reviews and maintains regular documentation of service delivery.

Requirements include:

• high school diploma or equivalent
• at least 1 year of applicable experience
• ability to teach daily living skills
• ability to complete various forms and documentation on an on-going basis
• ability to respond effectively to crisis, make independent decisions, work cooperatively, and remain flexible.

Successful candidates must have excellent interpersonal, crisis response and communication skills with an ability to build successful professional relationships at all levels. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to exercise judgment and discretion, work effectively both as part of a team and individually, and carry out tasks according to plans.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate that they are self-motivated, with a willingness to develop professionally and constantly apply new knowledge to their work.
