REPORTS TO: President/CEO
JOB PURPOSE
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for not only maintaining employee records, but also advising employees and supervisors. The Human Resources Manager provides guidance on policy, law, regulations and employment topics.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruiting
  • Work with hiring managers to determine current and future staffing needs
  • Prepare and maintain job descriptions
  • Utilize recruiting tools to obtain top-notch candidates
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and the hiring team
  • Complete the onboarding process with new hires
Employee Life Cycle
  • Process all transactions related to team members employment, including but not limited to: status changes, pay rate changes, benefit changes, deduction changes, performance improvement, continued education/training and annual reviews
  • Work with team members to address questions, issues, concerns and praise
  • Process annual union increases
  • Assist with probation, resignation and involuntary separations
  • Responsible for the Workman’s Compensation process
Other Responsibilities
  • Research and collect data on topics such as Labor Laws, PTO/Leave Policies, etc.
  • Review and maintain policies, making updates as needed to remain compliant
  • Advise on Human Resource issues and related topics, presenting resolutions to problems or updates processes as needed
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members, assisting in further career development
  • Coordinate company events, targeted at employee engagement, such as cookouts and holiday celebrations
  • Assist with the implementation of new systems
  • Assist Accounting and other departments as needed
  • Complete annual review cycles
  • Maintain contracts with employment agencies and reconcile invoices

  • Lead; Take full ownership of the responsibilities associated with position and act as a role model for team members
  • Make Decisions; Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risk and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interest of the organization
  • Organize; Processes all transactions in a timely manner and order which is appropriate
  • Plan; Prepare for upcoming high volume projects and specific annual processes
  • Solve Problems; Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Five (5) years’ Human Resources experience
  • Three (3) years’ Human Resources Generalist Experience
  • Independent worker
  • Outstanding skills with Microsoft Office (specifically MS Word and Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with executive team members
  • Strong ability to provide guidance to peers
  • Organizational and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Bachelors’ degree in related field
  • Available to work during normal business hours (8 am – 5 pm ET)
Preferred
  • Experience with StarBuilder, Newton, Procore and/or AssureHire
  • HR Certificate Institute or SHRM certification
  • Experience as a Human Resources Manager
  • Background in Payroll
