Desert Diamond Casino-West Valley is Hiring a Credit Manager Near Glendale, AZ

Position Summary

Under direct supervision of the Director of Cage & Credit, enhances effectiveness by performing a variety of credit administrative duties and tasks. Processes and tracks credit applications, includes tracking of collection efforts. Effective communication with customers regarding credit and payments of debt. Records, files and reports all privileged information and keeps maintains confidentiality of all customer accounts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for data entry of employee attendance, Internal Controls Exception Reports (ICERs), and disciplinary actions into department spreadsheets
  • Updates and approves department payroll
  • Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, staffing, reviewing and termination of all Credit team members 
  • Responsible for producing and controlling departmental budget and cost projections
  • Supervises, trains and directs work of Credit Clerks and cage team members in the handling of credit applications
  • Assesses Credit Department operation duties, processes, and other functionality
  • Implements changes need to continue to improve on quality and efficiency 
  • Ensures accuracy of all transactions
  • Ensures compliance with all Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise (TOGE) policies and procedures, including Internal Controls (ICs)
  • Ensures all required monthly reports required by Tohono O’odham Gaming Office (TOGO) and management are delivered by due dates
  • Acquires a thorough knowledge of the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) Regulations.
  • Maintains a good communication with team members and maintains a positive and professional work environment
  • Maintains excellent guest and team member relations
  • Maintains confidentiality of all casino operations data
  • Interprets, understands, enforces and complies with Personnel and Cage Policies and Procedures and all gaming regulations
  • Monitors and updates team member files
  • Records and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate
  • Prepares correspondence, reports, minutes, agendas, memos, forms, directories, and other documents and communications from drafts, recordings, or verbal instruction as requested
  • Establishes and maintains an effective filing and retrieval system
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Education And Experience

    High School Diploma or GED plus three (3) years’ experience in casino credit, financial lending or banking; or five (5) years’ experience in casino cage required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to type at least 60 wpm and demonstrate proficiency in grammar, spelling, math, and filing. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license and to include the following:

  • Knowledge of player history and using computer system for customer data
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment
  • Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic
  • Knowledge of records management, purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint)

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Work Environment

    Work is generally performed in an office and Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke, currency dust particles, and a high noise level. Evening, graveyard, holiday and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
