Overview

Desert Choice Schools is looking for a Full-time Program Aide in Casa Grande starting at $17.50 p/h with benefits.

Desert Choice Schools, a division of Learn Behavioral Family of Companies, is a certified K -12 Private Day School approved by the Arizona Department of Education to provide Special Education Services for the following disability categories: Autism (A), Emotional Disability and Emotional Disability-Private (ED) (ED-P), Developmental Delay (DD), Mild Intellectual Disability (MIID), Moderate Intellectual Disability (MOID), Orthopedic Impairment (OI), Other Health Impaired (OHI), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Speech-Language Impairment (SLI). 

Desert Choice Schools utilize highly structured, school-wide systems of Positive Behavioral Supports that teach academic skills, social/emotional regulation, flexible thinking, language development, motor development, and self-help skills. All teachers and support staff are trained in a unique methodology specific to their specialized program.

This position is perfect for candidates that are generally interested to work with children with special needs and want to make a difference in their lives! It’s also a great opportunity for candidates with a background in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology and Healthcare.

This is a full-time 10-month position with a summer break. The hourly rate is $17.50 per hour (additional 0.50 cents per hour if you have a Bachelor's Degree).

Responsibilities

  • Planning and implementation of social/emotional/behavioral interventions.
  • Implement treatment plans using ABA techniques.
  • Directly support students with daily living activities (including toileting, eating, etc.)
  • Behavior documentation and reporting.
  • Planning and implementation of academic interventions.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships.
  • Communicate with supervisors and other colleagues consistently and professionally.
  • Attend training, supervision, professional development and mentor meetings.
  • Receptive to constructive feedback in group and individual settings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children preferred.
  • Course work in related subject preferred.
  • Experience in ABA preferred, not required. 
  • Must have or willing to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid & Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must be able to work independently and meet all clinical and administrative deadlines.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (stoop, reach, stand, kneel, squat, sit, walk, lift, pull, grasp) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing and able to implement safety measures consistent with Professional Crisis Management Association (PCMA) such as: therapeutic holds and transportation procedures utilizing quick body movements in the course of maintaining the safety of students with special needs.
