Des Moines Public Schools is Hiring a Middle school teacher Near Lexington, KY

Thank you for applying for a teaching position with Des Moines Public Schools! We are currently hiring through a process we call pool hiring.

This means that you will be interviewed by representatives from across our system and considered for jobs in all buildings that have a current or future vacancies in your content area(s) or grade level(s).

The goal is that we reduce the number of interviews you need to experience while increasing the number of opportunities that we can consider offering to you.

New to the Profession and Experienced Teachers are encouraged to apply for positions starting January 2024 or for the 2024-2025 school year.

Required Licensure / Endorsement :

Valid Iowa teaching license with the appropriate endorsement.

Highly Qualified Candidates for the position will also possess :

Previous classroom teaching experience.

Experience in an urban school district.

Position Details :

Contract days vary by assignment

7.75 hours

Salary Information :

Beginning teacher salary $45,392.00

DMPS does not have a cap on number of years experience considered in salary offers for career teachers.

Candidates offered employment will be compensated based on skills, work experience and education.

Single and Family Health Insurance at no cost to the employee during the first plan year of employment (July 1 - June 30).

Premium cost is $600 / year after that.Employees can earn up to $600 / year via participation in the Healthy U program. Des Moines Public Schools Benefit Information : Des Moines Insurance plan information :

Current Monthly premiums paid by the district for eligible employees (subject to change effective July 1) :
