We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dental practice. As a DA or RDA, you will work closely with the dentist and other dental team members to provide excellent patient care and support. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in delivering dental procedures and ensuring a comfortable and efficient dental experience for patients. Responsibilities:
1. Chairside Assistance: Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, including but not limited to fillings, crown preparations, extractions, and implant surgery. Ensure all necessary equipment, instruments, and materials are prepared and readily available for each procedure.
2. Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns or questions. Escort patients to the treatment area and ensure a clean and organized environment. Assist in taking dental radiographs (X-rays) as per the dentist's instructions.
3. Sterilization and Infection Control: Adhere to strict sterilization and infection control protocols, including proper handling and disposal of instruments and hazardous materials. Maintain and monitor dental equipment, supplies, and stock inventory.
4. Record-Keeping and Documentation: Accurately record patient information, treatment plans, and progress notes in the dental management software. Ensure all documentation complies with legal and ethical standards and is complete and up to date.
5. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the dental team members, including the dentist, hygienist, and administrative staff, to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the dental practice. Foster a positive and supportive work environment.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
Experience: Prior experience working as a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with dental terminology and the ability to interpret and record dental charts. Proficiency in taking dental radiographs (X-rays) and maintaining radiographic equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members. Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
