Deployed Resources is Hiring a Spanish Bilingual Life Services Associate Near Greensboro, NC

The Life Services Associate (Spanish Bilingual) supports, develops, and has oversight of the program's youth care department's recreational & life skills activities. The Life Services Associate (Spanish Bilingual) ensures services are provided to the youth pertaining to large muscle and leisure time activities according to Deployed Services policies and standards. The Life Services Associate (Spanish Bilingual) is required to maintain a flexible, organized, and efficient work schedule and is subject to working extended hours, predominantly weekends.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist in developing and monitoring recreation activities that meet ORR guidelines regarding recreation time and structure activities
  • Assist in the development and oversight of the program's recreation schedules
  • Collaborate with management and other departments to ensure compliance with policy & procedures
  • Capture necessary data in the different platforms that the corporation uses including but not limited to WEBEOC, OneDrive, etc.
  • Help in the preparation of written reports and presentations related to recreation services
  • Assist in creating recreational activities to complement the demographics of the participants
  • Assist in developing Life Skills lessons based on participants' capabilities, ages, and fitness levels
  • Demonstrate and supervise the safe and proper use of tools and equipment
  • Assist in developing processes to maintain proper inventory of materials and equipment that are being utilized by children and maintaining an adequate surplus supply
  • Develop positive rapport with children while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other DS employees
  • Coordinate activities with Physical Education teacher
  • Assist in developing and monitoring activities that help participants to explore and prepare to enter a career or technical occupation
  • Attend all departmental and facility meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information policy changes or practices are adhered to
  • Must assist in the evacuation of children as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • General knowledge of all aspects of youth care services
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to motivate groups of all sizes
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English and Spanish
  • Must possess strong presentation skills
  • Ability to understand and carry out directions
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Flexibility is essential in producing alternate activities due to inclement weather
  • Ability to work nights and weekends. We operate 24/7/365
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED with experience working with children either through paid or unpaid positions
  • Must be certified in First Aid and CPR
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish and be prepared to demonstrate their proficiency
  • Must be able stand, sit, or walk for an extended time; move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps and lift up-to to 15lbs.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and a background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment
