Expected pay range: $18 - $20/ hour.

Summary and Scope

The Custodian is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of Deployed Resources facilities. This includes designated areas in the warehouse, restrooms, break rooms, and office areas of the facilities.

Essential Functions

• Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (e.g., offices, restrooms, conference rooms, warehouse, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, steam cleaning, shampooing, or vacuuming.
• Replenishes breakroom, kitchen, offices, conference rooms and restrooms supplies (e.g. snacks, paper towels, soap, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring adequate quantities for daily use
• Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or with hand trucks.
• Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings.
• Secures facilities and grounds (e.g., doors, gates, alarms, lights, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss and/or potential liability.
• Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow-melting chemicals.
• Perform minor facility repairs.
• Mow or trim lawns or shrubbery, using mowers or hand or power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds.
• Spray insecticides or fumigants to prevent insect or rodent infestation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required.
• 1 year of custodial or janitorial experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, required.
• Proficiency with basic cleaning equipment, products, and techniques

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Lifting of up to 50 lbs. may occur. Employees will be required to travel (at organization expense) in automobile and/or aircraft. Expectation of exposure to weather (heat, cold, rain, snow) as operations occur in all areas of the country with potential for overseas travel.

Expected Hours of Work

The ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on contract needs. It is expected for this position to attend regular meetings during typical work hours in Eastern Standard Time as well as meetings as needed for assigned projects in other time zones.

Work Environment

This job operates in office, workshop, facility, and field environments. We operate 24/7/365, inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, hand tools, site equipment and vehicles, and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.

Travel

Travel is dependent on contract load. The ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required. Short notice travel is required with 24-48 hours’ notice.

Work Authorization

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
• Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and a background check upon accepting a conditional offer of employment.
• Must possess a valid driver's license. Have/maintain a clean driving record.
