Position Title: Payroll Supervisor

Salary Range: $72,000 - $75,000

Classification: Full-time, Exempt

Reports to:  Manager, Accounting and Payroll

Location:  Houston, TX (Memorial Drive)

Position Description:

The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for the Agency, as well as assisting in the compilation and reconciliation of financial information. Primary responsibilities include: review bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll through automated payroll system; process garnishments and deduction using current payroll platform; prepare biweekly/monthly reports and journal entries for payroll and other assigned journal entries and reporting. The Payroll Supervisor is also responsible for the direct supervision of the Staff Accountant. The successful person is someone with a sound knowledge of payroll practices and processes with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field required.
• Experience with payroll practices and processes.
• Experience processing and reviewing full cycle payroll through an automated payroll system.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Some supervisory experience in Accounting.
• Familiar with payroll processing software.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong computer skills, specifically in MS Excel (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas).
• Sound knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing priorities and exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-volume, and deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
• Strong, written and oral communication skills.

Work Conditions:

• Environment: Hybrid optional after 90 days of employment
• Range of Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Occasional evenings
• Travel: None
