This Regional Team Specialist role is open only to people who already hold a teaching position within a DPS school building for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates who do not yet hold a teaching position within a DPS school building next year must secure one before applying to this role.

Essential Functions and Objectives:

The Regional Team Specialist (RTS) is a teacher who, in addition to providing high-quality instruction in their own classroom, magnifies their impact by facilitating collaborative time for a cohort of teachers in developing their ability to deliver joyful, rigorous and personalized instruction that leads to high achievement. The RTS leads a cohort of teachers in an aligned content area across multiple schools who may not otherwise have opportunities to collaborate in similar content or focus areas. This may include teachers in Beyond the Common Core subject areas, and others who teach unique content areas in their respective buildings.

The RTS leads and facilitates professional learning sessions during three Central DPS Professional Learning (PL) Days. These sessions focus on best practices in assessment literacy and instructional pedagogy, particularly using student work to drive the Student Learning Objectives (SLO) process and Data Driven Instruction.

Compensation: The person serving in this role will receive an annual stipend of $1,650, in addition to the full salary for his/her teaching role.
Expected Outcomes:

The goal of a Regional Team Specialist is to improve student learning through the facilitation of collaborative team time to support teacher growth in at least one of the following areas:

Rigorous and relevant curricula in daily and long-term planning
Equity in instruction to close achievement gaps through culturally responsive teaching practices and improved supports for Second language learners.
Use of student data including Data-Driven Instruction (DDI) and Student Learning Objective (SLO) progress monitoring.
