SPECIALIST, SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT (JOB ID: 64334)

Salary Range: $72,137 - $86,564

Essential Functions and Objectives:

Supports implementation of the School Improvement strategy, progress monitoring schools towards district goals; and studying the impact and refining the core improvement strategies of school designs, school tiering, tiered school funding, District and State Accountability structures, and annual school planning and continuous improvement.
  • Tiered School Identification and Support: Utilizes data-driven analysis to identify schools eligible for tiered supports with open communication on process and oversight across the district and collaborates with school leaders to develop improvement plans tailored to their specific needs and challenges.
  • Comprehensive School Design and Improvement Planning: Spearheads the coordination, communication, and project management of comprehensive school design initiatives including new school designs, school unifications, mergers, and closures; provides technical assistance to school leaders, empowering them to implement effective improvement strategies, including Unified Improvement Plans (UIP) and state accountability plans.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making and Monitoring: Conducts research on best practices in school improvement, ensuring evidence-based strategies guide efforts; monitors the progress of Tiered Schools and provide ongoing support to ensure successful outcomes; maintains all team records, databases, documents, website, and regular internal and external communication documents.
  • Grant Application, Implementation, and Improvement Pilots: Leads the development of annual state and federal school improvement grant applications; collaborates with schools and vendors to align support with school and district improvement strategies; and facilitates the implementation of district school improvement grant pilots, tracking progress and communicating goals and learnings to department leadership.
  • Supports the implementation of MTSS across the district.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
  • Three (3) or more years of school improvement, project coordination, educational, or related business experience.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.
  • High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.
  • Works collaboratively with others on a team.
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multicultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to manage complex projects using project management tools and processes.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures.

Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
