Denton Floyd Real Estate Group is growing! We are looking for an energetic Estimator to join our team. Located near downtown Louisville, we have a culture of teamwork, cooperation with other team members, and a family atmosphere that sets us apart.

Denton Floyd is well capitalized and has a proven record of year over year growth. In addition to property management, we also develop, design, construct multi-family apartments and assisted living facilities.

The Estimator is a critical position within our Company. Estimators are responsible for creating a bidding database, compiling cost budgets for projects, evaluating bid specifications and drawings, creating a complete and manageable budget.

Candidates must be highly organized with excellent time management and assessment skills. This is an mid-level position, with opportunity for advancement.

Responsibilities Include:

• Recruits and qualifies new subcontractors
• Organizes networking events
• Prepares invitation to bid
• Compiles the bid package
• Develops RFIs, clarifications and communicates with the contractors
• Ensures that contractors are aware of the project schedule and phasing plans
• Build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers
• Ensure vendors are engaged throughout bidding process
• Review bid documents thoroughly to understand project plans and specifications
• Keep current on changes and trends in methods of construction and materials
• Works with construction division to revise scope of work documents to suit the project
• Updates the trade partners, subcontractors, and supplies contact data base information
• Assist with the buyout of all projects
• Negotiation of pricing and scope
• Creates bid comparisons and develops budgets
• Handle all trade partner, subcontractor and supplier interactions in a manner designed to build a long-term relationship
• Continuous learning
• Develops creative solutions to problems
• Other tasks or duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualities Desired in a Successful Candidate:

• 3 – 5 years of construction estimating experience
• Ability to read plans and develop scopes of work in varied trades
• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in construction management or related field preferred
• Desire to advance
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong assessment skills
• Intense knowledge of Microsoft Excel
