Dempster Brothers Lawn Care & Landscaping is Hiring a Landscape Foreman Near Knoxville, TN

How ‘bout we skip right ahead to the center of the tootsie-pop? Our small business is located in Powell, TN. We are biased — but we are pretty sure we are the best landscaping company to work for, ever. And we really believe that our work is second to none (you will see what we mean when you check out our website!). We mow lawns, trim bushes, install mulch and more. Honestly, the job is not all roses and puppy dogs — there is some good news and there is some bad news.

Some good news:

  • Our starting pay rate is near the top of our industry, $17.50/hour with little to no experience ($18.50/hour with some experience). Meaning, you won’t have to climb the ladder for 12 months just to be making a good wage. From there, based on your growth within the company and tenure, you can expect to climb the ladder to upwards of $22/hour or higher.
  • We provide uniforms and PPE safety gear to everyone who works for us; shirts, hoodies, beanies, hats... Get ready to look stylish!
  • Experience is not required – While experience is preferred a willingness to learn is all we ask

Some requirements / expectations:

  • This is where we start to look at the tough points of the job, the first being a positive attitude. -
  • Everyone wakes up on the wrong side of the bed from time-to-time but at Dempster Brothers we expect a positive attitude during work above all else. The work we do can often be hard or tedious; spreading mulch all day, pruning shrubs by hand, or weedeating a long fence line... Maintaining a positive attitude no matter what gets thrown at you is critical.
  • Punctuality – Human's make mistakes but being late for work is one that we as a company can do without. We expect you to arrive at our shop on-time and ready to work; your breakfast eaten, the bathroom used, and a smile on your face (hearken back to the positive attitude) – We have a program in place that rewards you, be on time for an entire week and you get an extra hour of pay added to your check!
  • Dress for success – While we provide shirts, hoodies, hats, etc. you still need to show up for work wearing pants (blue jeans are fine, just ones without lots of tears) and a sturdy set of boots. If you don't have a good pair of boots we have a cost-sharing program in place to help.
  • While at work, work – Last but not least, when at work we expect you to do your job. This is a great opportunity for those individuals who are ready and willing to work hard. We make sure to take a good lunch and plenty of breaks so our days are never considered grueling. You can expect to be cutting grass, installing mulch, cleaning up landscaping beds, removing leaves in the fall – Performing typical outdoor landscape work.
