Delta Utilities is Hiring an Office Administrator Near Orleans, LA

Position Overview

Delta Utilities is seeking an experienced office and operations professional to serve as the office administrator. This role will oversee the daily operations of an office and provide administrative support to key leadership positions to ensure smooth office operations. This is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in administrative assistance and office management, preferably in a corporate environment. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have strong communication and organization skills, the ability to multitask, demonstrate initiative, and anticipate customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of office operations including office equipment and supplies, various filing systems, meeting rooms, and conferences
  • Coordinate logistics for both onsite and offsite meetings, conferences, and events, including venue booking and tech setup, assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documents, take meeting notes, and follow up on action items for others as necessary
  • Manage incoming and outgoing calls, visitors, packages, deliveries, emails, and other correspondence, and handle inquiries and requests appropriately
  • Support basic bookkeeping tasks, such as processing invoices and expenses, preparing and managing budgets, and preparing financial documents
  • Manage the calendars, schedules, meetings, travel arrangements, meals, and expenses of key leadership
  • Assist with data entry tasks including updating and maintaining databases and records, and support the preparation of reports, documents, and presentations
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Support new hire onboarding activities
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five to seven years of related professional experience is required, preferably in a corporate setting and preferably supporting C-level executives
  • A bachelor’s degree is considered a plus; a combination of experience and education that clearly demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities may be suitable
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance competing requests and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and office management software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate needs and proactively address issues
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt

About Delta Utilities

Delta Utilities is a leading natural gas utility with a focus on safe, dependable service to customers. Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, the utility will serve nearly 600,000 customers and become of the leading natural gas providers in Louisiana and Mississippi and among the top 40 providers in the United States.

In 2023, Entergy announced that it had entered into an agreement with Delta Utilities to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business. The natural gas utility currently serves more than 200,000 customers across East Baton Rouge and Orleans parishes. In February 2024, Delta Utilities entered into an agreement with CenterPoint Energy to acquire its Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas businesses, which currently serve approximately 381,000 customers. Once the transactions are complete, Entergy's Louisiana natural gas operations and CenterPoint Energy's Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas systems will be operated by Delta Utilities.
