Position Summary Information

Delta College is seeking instructors committed to the college’s philosophy that education serves the greater good by providing students access to a better life. The candidates for adjunct instructor positions understand that community colleges are positioned to fundamentally change people’s lives, and as a result, society itself. Required qualities include a belief that continuous improvement in pedagogy and relationships with students, other faculty, and staff are hallmarks of an educator who has been called to the profession. We are seeking colleagues who embrace the idea of helping students achieve their goals, and approach academic excellence as evidenced in equity as a moral imperative.
The Science & Math division is looking for an instructor to teach introductory Geology and provide appropriate support to students.
Instruction delivered face to face or hybrid, and some courses may be delivered completely online.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum Technology Skills
    • Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Geology or Earth Science.
    • Ability to teach using a variety of formats including face to face, hybrid, online.
    • Currency in the geology discipline. Evidence could include teaching Geology/Earth Science in the last five years or successfully completing a geology course in the last five years.
Additional Experiences Considered
  • Master’s Degree in Geology or Earth Science.
  • Doctoral Degree in Geology or Earth Science
