Purpose

Working under the direction of the Manager of Production Compliance, this person is responsible for ensuring that the cultivation facilities and its employees are in compliance with all State, as well as Local laws and regulations. The Production Compliance and Audit Coordinator is responsible for ensuring Cultivation and Marijuana Products Manufacturing facilities are in compliance with the Regulated Marijuana Testing Program. This includes physical sampling, record keeping of all sampling events, and tracking of results. This position will assist with compliance checks of finished goods produced in the facility. This position will ensure accurate tracking of inventory by performing audits, both digital and physical, of in progress material as well as finished goods. The Production Compliance and Audit Coordinator must have an intermediate working knowledge of METRC, Counterpoint, Google Sheets and Excel. The position provides regular and timely communication with Analytics, Production, Processing and MIPS management as well as team members within those departments.

Essential Duties

Compliance

  • Ensure that all products produced in the cultivation facility and marijuana infused products facility receive the appropriate state-mandated testing.
  • Follow the proper sampling protocols, including submission and delivery, for all samples as required by state laws.
  • Maintain detailed records of sampling events.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of testing results to Packaging, Analytics, MIPS and Distribution departments.
  • Maintain a digital archive of all testing reports.
  • Enter all testing results into internal tracking sheets and Counterpoint.
  • Track and maintain documentation regarding process validation.
  • Communicate with Testing Facilities to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Ensure that workflow and work procedures are documented, and that appropriate controls and audits are in place to ensure data and processing integrity.

Procedures, Productivity, and Quality

  • Take instructions and follow direction as delegated by supervisors to meet daily and weekly, individual and team production and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Work in a timely manner and strives to increase productivity.
  • Maintain a culture of professionalism.

Auditing

  • Perform digital audits of products in Counterpoint to compare against data in METRC.
  • Perform physical audits of finished products in Counterpoint to compare against physical counts and data within METRC.
  • Perform compliance checks of finished products to ensure packaging and labeling compliance.
  • Perform physical audits of work in progress material to confirm accurate data in internal tracking sheets.
  • Verify testing data for packages.
  • Conduct digital audits of Counterpoint to confirm accurate entry of test results.
  • Conduct onboarding audits of production facilities for all company acquisitions.

Other Duties

  • Occasional coverage/assistance for data entry in Packaging/Distribution.
  • Coverage/assistance for compliance checks on MIP products
  • Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to assisting other departments to help facilitate additional and/or supplemental work such harvesting, trimming, packaging, cleaning, and light maintenance as needed throughout the facility.

Supervision

  • Works under the direct supervision of the Manager of Production Compliance.
  • This person does not supervise others

Job Qualifications

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 1 years of experience working in the marijuana industry.
  • Knowledge of the State of Michigan Marijuana laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Significant experience working in the METRC system.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft and Google (IE: Excel, Word, Docs, Sheets).
  • High attention to detail
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet productivity and performance requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a background check requirement specified by the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree preferred.

  • Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
