Responsible for the assessment and the insertion of PICC lines for patients requiring an intravenous access device. Responsibility also includes coordinating the process of PICC line placements, communication with primary care nurses and providing education for care and maintenance of vascular access devices. The PICC line nurse directs the PICC line process and team members, establishing a positive and professional rapport with other departments and staff, focusing on the provision of individualized quality patient care consistent with organizational standards and goals

Qualifications

Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Masters degree)

Certifications
Required: Florida RN Licensure, PICC LIne Certification, American Heart Association BLS and ACLS.

Preferred: American Heart Association PALS

Experience

Two (2) years of experience in placing venous access devices. Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred. Experience placing PICC lines preferred.
