 Work you’ll do

This is a dual role acting as a Deputy Project Manager and Sr. Communications Specialist for a project focused on continuity and crisis management. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, project management, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills. In addition to acting as a subject matter expert on communications and outreach for the client, you will assist the Sr. Project Manager in planning and implementing the project from start to finish.

Key DPM responsibilities may include:

  • Working closely with the Sr. Project Manager to resolve any issues and solve problems throughout the project life cycle.
  • Helping in the development of project plans, goals, and budgets; identifying resources needed, and coordinating the efforts of team members priorities.
  • Developing and maintaining project status reports to keep the client and Contract Office informed on burn rate and financials, work accomplished, and any risks or challenges encountered.
  • Supporting various project management activities including oversight of onboarding and security protocols, client invoicing, sub-contractor relationship management, and workforce forecasting.

Key Sr. Communications Specialist responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the client in expanding their public presence through conference planning and tracking and recommending approaches or tactics to reach specific audiences
  • Developing key messages, talking points, or other content for leadership to use during internal and external engagements
  • Collaborating with the client’s training branch to identify new opportunities to deliver training and technical assistance to key stakeholders

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future 
  • Active Top Secret security clearance required 
  • 7 years’ experience in emergency management and continuity policy and planning concepts
  • 2 years' facilitating project management meetings for both clients and contract staff
  • 2 years' experience developing outreach and communications materials for a wide range of audiences and advising leadership on communications strategies or plans 
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.

Preferred:

·Level I Professional Continuity Practitioner certification strongly preferred
