We're seeking a dedicated Assistant Coach to join our Boys Varsity Basketball program!

In this role, you'll play a vital part in supporting the Head Coach, student-athletes, and contributing to the success of our team. You'll work closely with student-athletes, fostering a positive environment that promotes both athletic growth and personal development.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practice sessions.
• Lead individual and small group drills to refine players' skills in shooting, dribbling, passing, and defensive strategies.
• Scout opponents and provide game-specific analysis to the coaching staff.
• Assist with film breakdown, helping student-athletes understand their strengths and weaknesses.
• Motivate and encourage players, building confidence and fostering a positive team culture.
• Maintain a supportive presence on the bench during games.
• Assist with equipment management and logistical tasks.
• May be assigned additional responsibilities based on the Head Coach's direction.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Prior basketball coaching experience (preferred, but not required).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with student-athletes of various ages and backgrounds.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and motivate players to improve.
• Enthusiasm for the game and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive team environment.
• Must complete SDHSAA Coaching Requirements.
