Purpose of the Position
Supports and supervises the nursing staff (LPN’s & RCA’s). Dispenses medication and assists the Director of Nursing with overseeing medication management, resident care, and incident reporting. Handles immediate family concerns and physician communication under the direction of the Director of Nursing. Assist with survey compliance and plan of correction implementation. Ensures all regulatory guidelines are met. Treats co-workers, residents, and families with a high level of respect and dignity.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Dispenses and oversees medication management with oversight from the Director of Nursing as needed.
  • Oversee that all medical appointments are scheduled, and drivers are assigned
  • Reviews Medication Administration Records
  • Create Monthly Staff schedules for Nurses, RCAs and ensure all shifts are covered.
  • Update the daily assignment board and assignment sheets.
  • Assists the Director of Nursing with monitoring chart audits, nurses notes and documentations for accuracy and completion.
  • Ensure that Daily census sheets are completed and submitted by the deadlines.
  • Follow on call DON/ADON schedule.
  • Assist with the nursing portion of the admission process.
  • Ensure that each nurse on staff is properly certified and abides by the standard of care established by our organization and state and federal laws.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and application of Key Clinical Quality Indicators, and proactively monitors and implements systems to achieve and/or surpass company thresholds.
  • Ensure that all residents have all necessary supplies.
  • Collaborates with physicians, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems daily or as needed
  • Ensure all RCA 1:1 sheets and documentation are audited and submitted by the deadlines.
  • Responsible for timely reporting incidents to state (as appropriate)
  • Assesses and evaluates resident issues and medical concerns timely.
  • Documents incidental occurrences and other pertinent resident medical/care information and conducts investigations for incidents.
  • Participates in direct care of residents when needed
  • Attends staff meetings (morning meetings, quality assurance, clinical review, etc.) if the Director of Nursing is unavailable.
  • Conducts reportable incident investigations alongside of the Security Department manager and submits documentation. timely, including State reportable incidents.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of interventions to improve quality of care.
  • Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools.
  • Oversee nursing staff and conduct education, disciplinary action, and counseling in department as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring and training for newly hired employees.
  • Encourages participation from all residents in daily groups/outings
  • Responsible for updating, maintaining, and creating policies and procedures.
  • Work required Manager on Duty (MOD) weekend rotation and holidays as assigned by Executive Director.
  • Covers Nurse schedule in Emergency with DON.
  • All tasks as assigned by DON and Executive Director.
  • Maintains positive attitude
  • Provides flexibility to ever changing needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
