To assist with the supervising of the Engineering staff on a nightly basis.

  1. Helps oversee the nightly operation of the Engineering department. Hours vary between 2:00pm and 12:00am.
  2. Trains and supervises the staff in the department utilizing an on-going training program.
  3. Schedule staff consistent with the volume of business and guest needs and within budgetary guidelines.
  4. Ensure necessary training in safety, chemical use and accident prevention is completed. 
  5. Communicate with the Chief Engineering on a regular basis concerning the progress and operations of the department.
  6. Document and relay all necessary paperwork to the Human Resources department.
  7. Installs, maintains, repairs, and operates resort machinery, equipment, and related systems.
  8. Supervises all Engineering areas.
  9. Maintains the entire building, inside and out.
  10. Develops and implements work simplification and method improvement programs.
  11. Supervises the installation and construction of all work.
  12. Controls all resort keys and initiates required changes in assignment of keys to rooms.
  13. Assists in the supervision of fire safety and implementation of programs.
  14. Complete labor forecasts.
  15. Completes special assignments as requested.
  16. Demonstrates safety and security with the operation of resort machinery.
  17. Possesses complete knowledge of the resort facilities and functions.
  18. Assists in seasonal snow removal.
  19. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager and/or Chief Engineer.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Must have previous supervisor experience 
  • Valid Drivers License
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year in building trades or previous experience as a general repair person in the hospitality industry
  • Previous knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of/and ability to use all general repair tools (both hand and power)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, hands to feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; talk or hear; climb or balance; kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The position is indoors and outdoors; and is exposed to wet, hot, humid and/or cold conditions at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The staff member will work in a high traffic/high volume business environment and will be required to spend a majority of their time on their feet.
