DDS GENERAL MANAGER

BASIC FUNCTION
To continue and aid our success in delivering a Total Customer Experience, DeLaval Dairy Services (DDS) is seeking a talented individual to be General Manager of our Lansing MI dealership, reporting to the DeLaval Dairy Service Commercial Leader The General Manageris responsible for coordinating the day-to-day business of a company-owned dairy equipment and consumables dealership. This position is the face of DeLaval in the local market place.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the relationship development with local dairy producers and key stakeholders
  • Responsible for the Sales Development effort of DeLaval capital equipment and aftermarket products
  • Support the sale of DeLaval systems and aftermarket products and programs, as well as, to develop and maintain an active prospect list
  • Responsible for managing the integrity, quality and timeliness of all capital installations
  • Manage a team of Account Managers and Route Delivery Specialists
  • Responsibility for monitoring and managing local inventory, accounts receivable and capital
    • Manage the inventory to protect the inventory value, and to enable the accuracy and ease of order picking and inventory counts
  • Maintain the “brand” of the dealership – clean, neat and professional manner/approach
REQUIRED SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
  • Ability to manage a team effectively
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence others
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; strong financial acumen
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel locally (daily) and several times a year as required (management meetings and trainings)
EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND
  • High School degree required, Bachelors degree preferred
  • 5 years of experience in supervisory/management role preferred
  • Experience in the dairy industry strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required (Excel, Outlook)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid license as defined
