Summary:
Delaney Hardware is currently looking for a Demand Planner/Supply Chain Analyst to work in our Sugar Hill, GA office. What you will be doing:
  • Develop statistical forecasts using Delaney’s current tools in Excel.
  • Play a critical role in supporting the conversion of Excel-based forecasting to software-based forecasting.
  • Thoroughly analyze inventory stockouts to identify the root cause and propose corrective actions, such as forecast or safety stock adjustments.
  • Responsible for recognition of unidentified trends and forecasting potential impact.
  • Work directly with Sales to understand upcoming product promotions or business that is likely to be won so that these can be built into the forecast.
  • Provide support and recommendations to management through identification and monitoring of supply chain business trends, performance triggers, and key performance indicators that provide insight into overall performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to drive analytics related to initiatives, forecasting, and predictive analytics.
  • Develop and provide insight surrounding performance monitoring, industry benchmarking, and overall strategic alignment and performance.
  • Participate in formation of business plans and associated statistical forecasts.
  • Compile and prepare reports, graphs, and charts of data analyzed to prepare forecasts and recognize/identify trends through analysis and make recommendations.
  • Monitor and peer review accuracy of data pulled and revise methods of data retrieval by following a standard process. Assist in team analytic development to ensure proper procedures, practices, and consistency.
  • Develop action plan proposals through analytic concepts and data mining methodologies.
  • Explore personally conceived ideas and possible opportunities related to overall performance and relative to this position.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to ensure product shortages are addressed timely and effectively.
  • Work directly with suppliers for expediting and/or making changes to outstanding purchase orders.
  • Perform purchase order acknowledgements and create inbound shipments after each supplier has shipped product.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding modifications to inbound purchase orders.
  • Apply general business, business processes, and best practices knowledge to support business projects.
  • Data Analytics and Data Visualization within Excel and Power BI
  • Collaborate with management and other functions within the company to create necessary reports and dashboards which will include identifying opportunities, refining processes, recommending innovative solutions, supporting action plans, and creating actionable recommendations.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering
  • Strong to advanced computer skills including MS Office with demonstrated skills in Excel including the ability to create, manipulate, and formulate spreadsheets and databases. Microsoft Power Query, Power BI, Power Apps a plus.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to draw insight from large amounts of data.
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts including planning, planning parameters, MRP, and purchase order management.
  • Ability to learn new concepts, processes, and applications.
  • Understanding of database concepts.
  • Sense of urgency & detail oriented.
  • Innovative thinker with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration skills and understanding of team values.
  • Knowledge of business processes and analytical support systems.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Willingness to take initiative to resolve issues quickly.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (ability to communicate with all levels, from peers to senior leadership).
  • Excellent time management skills.
