DEL REAL LLC is Hiring a Food Safety Regulatory Compliance Near Mira Loma, CA

Hello! We are looking for a dedicated Food Safety Regulatory Compliance to join the team! Del Real Foods is a traditional Mexican food manufacturer born out of a family farm. The Food Safety Regulatory Compliance is Responsible for the development, implementation, overview, verification, validation, and maintenance of all food safety and quality compliance programs to SQF, USDA, and FDA related programs. Oversee and respond to all regulatory requests, prepare, and execute all audits for the facility.

In addition, this position also serves to coordinate quality document control activities for the facility. In this role this individual implements and maintains the company’s Document Control and Training System. Daily review quality and food safety documents to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards and timelines. Strictly follows established procedures and policies needed to meet the demands of any other document control.

Coordinate with Operations and any other department to investigate and provide timely responses to customer and consumer complaints.

Requirements and Duties:

  • Follows and enforces employee’s safety procedures.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor or manager.
  • Follow, Monitor, and Enforce all food safety procedures and regulations.
  • Follows and enforces SQF requirements (Facilities, Equipment, SSOP, SOP, GMP’s)
  • Follows and enforces USDA & FDA guidelines, standards and regulations.
  • Follow Company Policies, Regulations, and Lunch & Break Policies
  • Must be able to conduct data trend analysis.
  • Risk Assessments/analysis
  • Must possess the abilities to conduct an adequate microbiological, chemical and physical risk assessments for all new and existing internal processes, suppliers, and Ingredients.
  • USDA/FDA/SQF
  • Candidates must have extensive experience handling and enforcing SQF, USDA, and FDA codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Keep up to date on all relevant changes of SQF, USDA, and FDA related standards that might directly or indirectly impact the company and/or individual food products.
  • Review and approve new and existing product labels to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate the company’s Labels Approvals process for all products.

  • Assist the R&D and Quality Assurance Management Team on new and existing products shelf-life studies and miscellaneous food safety/quality projects.

Position Area Duties (1-15 listed below)

  • Lead the development, validation, and implementation of food safety fundamentals.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, verification, validation, and maintenance of the SQF Codes,
  • Understands the SQF Codes and the requirements to implement and maintain SQF System relevant to Del Real Foods scope of certification.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate activities related to the SQF program.
  • Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF System
  • Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System.
  • This position is responsible for managing suppliers’ SQF programs.
  • Schedule, coordinate and execute continuous SQF related training to personnel and keep training records readily available.
  • Support Production in the application of the SQF rules by the employees
  • Train and supervise management employees that have a role in the SQF Program to ensure their good understanding of the rules and development as a team of the best control measures possible.
  • Ensure that SQF rules are respected rigorously.
  • Develop, maintain, validate, and revise annually the SQF Program
  • Participate and take the lead in the company’s internal audits.
  • Schedule, coordinate and lead the annual SQF re-certification audits for the facility.
  • Flexible hours and able to be contacted when necessary.


Requirements and skills

  • Extensive knowledge of HACCP and GMP’s required in a USDA Establishment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint (especially proficient in using Excel formulas) and electronic communication tools.
  • Data Trending Analysis
  • Ability to analyze and make decisions.
  • Energetic, Committed, Flexible, with ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills


C. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Preferred Requirement: bachelor’s degree in food science or similar field
  • Minimum 3-year experience in Quality function in the Food Industry
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus.
