Dekker/Perich/Sabatini is Hiring a Project Manager (Laboratory Design) Near Phoenix, AZ

Dekker Perich Sabatini is seeking an experienced Project Manager with laboratory design experience to augment our growing team. This position manages and leads project teams with direct accountability for project delivery. You will also be a point of contact for client relationships. As passionate and self-driven team members at DPS, candidates would play a key role in creating inspired designs, backed by the support of a firm that has been a leader in the industry for over 60 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively engages in project work, contributing individual expertise, assuring design excellence, and providing guidance to team 
  • Point of contact for client relationships
  • Network in the industry to identify and pursue project opportunities in the science and technology market
  • Provide leadership to client and teams by communicating and coordinating project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule
  • investigation, evaluation, technical aspects, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs
  • Provides consultation and team collaboration in the planning, design, and coordination of projects
  • Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs
  • Works closely with Project Managers and Project Architects to supervise and execute project teams’ design and technical delivery to meet project requirements
  • Assists with technical lab, documentation oversight and quality assurance reviews and participates in design chats 
  • Mentors and provides technical guidance to less experienced design team members 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in Architecture or Equivalent 
  • 5 years of relevant experience 
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and consultation skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software 
  • Can be relied upon to present directly to the client on technical and design solutions 
  • Experience with programming, planning, design, and construction phases on laboratory projects
  • Knowledge of laboratory planning, design, construction documents, construction administration, and project construction cost monitoring for lab facilities
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
  • Experience leading programming and planning for science facilities with end-users is a plus
  • Relationships with decision-makers in Arizona academic, institutional and/or corporate end-user science organizations is a plus
