DeFiore Funeral & Cremation Service is dedicated to providing caring, professional services to Huntley and the surrounding community. As a full-service funeral home, they provide many types of funeral and memorial services, accommodating all faiths, ethnic traditions, and family wishes. They offer cremation services at their on-site crematory, as well as monuments, markers, and pre-planning services.

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting funeral home staff, implementing operational strategies, and ensuring efficient processes.

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency

- Manage and supervise Funeral Home Assistant

- Coordinate with funeral home staff and Funeral Directors to achieve organizational goals

- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed

- Oversee facility maintenance and ensure a safe working environment

- On Call second person for removals

- Assist with funerals, gravesides, and memorial services on and off site

- Head cremationist: schedule, cremate, and process cremations

- Design, sell, and set monuments and markers

- Oversee facility, changing light bulbs, coordination of snow removal and landscaping

- Overseeing and maintain fleet, wash, gas, cars always ready

- Assist in purchasing vehicles

- Assist with set up and tear down of services

- Community relations

- Trips to pick up or deliver embalmed bodies/airport trip

- Oversee facility inspections: fire alarm, sprinkler, backflow, crematory, fire inspections •

- Ensure facilities and building grounds are ready, safe, clean for everyday activities of the funeral home

- Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred

- Proven experience in operations management

- Strong leadership and decision-making skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is a plus

- Experience in sales, event planning, or bereavement support is advantageous

- Ability to clean/sanitize work areas and handle bereavement support services

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
