Provide administrative assistance in the areas of safety training. Must be a highly organized and resourceful self-starter who works well with minimal guidance and/or direction. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with public and district staff. Maintain confidentiality within the department and community. Flexible working schedule as assigned.
Job Duties / Responsibilities

• Complete projects and assignments within designated timelines.
• Assist and oversee all functions related to safety training.
• Perform advanced clerical duties within the transportation department as assigned.
• Provide assistance in the preparation and completion of the annual claim.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

• Associates Degree preferred.
• Bilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred.

Experience / Knowledge

• Data input and retrieval as it applies to department software, including basic Office programs and specialized transportation programs.
• Must have general knowledge of all transportation operations.
• Must be detailed orientated.
• Experience working in a large organization requiring interaction both internally and externally on a daily basis.
• Experience coordinating and managing employee trainings.
• Experience in electronic record keeping and maintaining accurate files.

Physical Demands

• Ability to work on a computer approximately 60% of the workday.
• Telephone demands will occupy approximately 40% of the workday.

Terms of Employment

• This is a 12-month work year position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
