Here’s the scoop - Summary

The Manager, P&O (HR) Programs will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing key HR programs and projects to enhance existing processes, improve the Associate experience, and contribute to the overall organizational goals. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in leading org-wide initiatives supported by strong change management. This individual will have strong influence and collaboration skills and be known for proposing simple and transparent practices in order to fuel a high-performance culture which positively impacts attraction, retention and engagement. General scope of work includes developing, executing and facilitating the full spectrum of strategic HR programs for Champion Petfoods, that may evolve based upon business needs. Examples of potential programs and projects are listed below under job duties.

Reporting to the Director, P&O (HR) Services, this position is based out of Boulder, CO office on a hybrid work schedule.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Collaborate effectively with HR functional area partners (HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition) as well as cross-functional partners (Corporate Communications, Legal, Finance, IT, etc.) to implement HR programs and projects.
  • Develop and implements change management strategies to facilitate organizational shifts, proactively and ensuring successful adoption of business transformative initiatives.
  • Act as liaison between Champion and Mars HR teams to evaluate and determine go forward strategy for HR policies and program alignment.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to enhance the company's employer brand and align employer branding efforts with talent acquisition strategies. 
  • Administer the Total Rewards strategy aligned with the company's business goals, market trends, and industry benchmarks. 
  • Implement a comprehensive enhanced Onboarding Program that aligns with the company's values, culture, and business objectives.
  • Execute strategic benefits initiatives that align with organizational objectives, enhancing the overall attractiveness and competitiveness of the employee benefits package. Coordinate the execution of wellness programs, aligned with Mars initiatives, to promote employee engagement and to foster a culture of well-being within the organization.
  • Implement training programs for Line Management based on Mars Leadership Competencies and support ongoing professional development.
  • Responsible for maintaining multiple Learning Management Systems and coordinating Compliance Learning curriculum with Mars.
  • Partner with HRBPs to deliver Team Effectiveness training for internal functions or new leaders.
  • Represent Champion in the Mars Associate Survey annual process for survey launch, monitoring of participation rates, design of results dashboard and managing distribution of results via Managers and HR.
  • Coordinate annual Performance & Development review processes timely to include objective setting and the year-end review.
  • Maintain and creates HR policies as needed, as well as reviews HR policies at Mars level to compare/contrast to Champion policies and determine best approach for Champion.
  • Play an integral role within a team dedicated to the successful implementation of a new HRIS system.
  • Promote and support the Champion Values and Mars Five Principles.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma and/or certificate in Human Resources Management.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Human Resource position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven success in leading and influencing across multiple stakeholders to make decisions and implement change.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) both in one-on-one and in group settings.
  • Depth in understanding of corporate HRIS systems and HR Processes.
  • Strong data analytical skills, as well as a keen interest in systems and processes.
  • Strong project management skills to lead highly complex, org-wide initiatives.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills to diagnosis critical challenges and develop business solutions, as well as identify potential risks and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Proficiency in presentation and communications technology, such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Motivated, energetic, goal-oriented, with a strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: Target pay range for this position is $90,000-130,000 USD annually, however base pay offered may vary depending on job related experience and skills. This information is based on anticipated market location (Boulder, CO)
  • Annual Incentive Eligibility: This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive plan. Awards are based on the achievement of both individual objectives as well as company objectives.
  • Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, 401k benefits, and annual vacation.
