JOB LOCATION: Deerfield, IL

POSITION: Enterprise Data Architect

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Baxter Healthcare Corporation is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect with the following duties:

  • The Data/Solution Architect plays an imperative role in the digital transformation of our data portfolio across the Globe;
  • The architect dives deep into ambiguous and complex issues to better understand and grow business engagement;
  • They deliver solutions based on analyzing, evaluating, and surfacing opportunities within cross-disciplined teams;
  • They participate and oversee the design process for new and enhanced analytics applications utilizing modern technology stack in Baxter;
  • Oversee the design process for applications, including data flows, data architecture diagrams, data models and application prototypes;
  • Drive requirements and partner with data scientists in creating new AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning) models;
  • Write clear, concise, and complete data element names and definitions;
  • Training, mentoring, and coaching business professionals on data including solution and data design.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field plus 8 years of related experience
  • Will accept any level of experience in the following skills:
    • Design process for new analytical applications, including creating data flows, data architecture diagrams, logical and physical data models using Power Designer;
    • Design data loading strategy and enforcing data integrity with thorough understanding of primary and foreign keys;
    • BI prototypes using Cognos, Tableau; evaluate risks and defects through hands-on systems testing in AWS, Snowflake, Linux;
    • Analyze and create technical data mappings and business specifications documentation;
    • Drive requirements and work closely with data scientists to create and design data models to support new AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning) models and algorithms supporting advanced analytics (descriptive, predictive, prescriptive) for new and existing applications;
    • Design new analytical applications using advanced skills in Cloud Solutions including AWS, S3, EC2, Python, Snowflake, SQL, Snow SQL, ELT (Extract Load & Transform), Data Warehouse solutions and databases;
    • Experience building consolidated/ aggregated measures which accurately reflect business metrics;
    • Develop reporting and dashboard solutions using Cognos, Tableau.
  • 20% remote work allowed. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite.

Competitive compensation and benefits.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $131,498 - $180,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
