Job Overview:

As the Director of Product Management for Hardware Devices, you will be responsible for leading and managing the entire product lifecycle of our hardware devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and operations, to develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy. Your expertise will drive the development and launch of innovative, market-leading IoT camera devices that exceed the needs and expectations of our customers and drive the company's growth. You will build, manage and mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.

This role reports to the VP of Product, is a key member of the Product Team and is perfect for a talented product manager who’s looking to take the lead at a hyper-growth, fast paced, tech company.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate a clear product strategy for hardware devices, aligned with the company's overall mission and vision.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define the long-term roadmap for hardware devices.
  • Lead the product planning process, including defining product requirements, features, and specifications.
  • Drive the product development process, from concept to launch, while maintaining focus on quality, cost, and time-to-market.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback sessions to identify market trends and opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
  • Build, manage and mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Work closely with Internal Engineering/ODMs/CM’s to produce new products, resolve production issues, and resolve any product quality issues.
  • Report out project status to Sr. Management team.
  • Own progress and timelines of product development projects.
  • Contribute to PRDs, BRDs, FRDs, MRDs and other product Specifications.
  • Interact with Customer Support, Marketing, Sr. Leadership, Software, Hardware Engineering and other teams to reach product development goals, requirements and timelines.
  • Assist in creating and implementing any support action plans to resolve device technical issues.
  • Assist VP of Product in Developing SOPs and Tools for Product Managers.

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years of product management experience
  • 5 years’ experience managing teams.
  • Knowledge of cellular and wireless technologies (LTE, WiFi, BT, NFC, ZigBee).
  • Working knowledge of IoT cellular hardware development, manufacturing and support processes and common development tools.
  • Good technical and non-technical communication skills with team and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with 3rd party ODM and CM’s.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to work closely with engineering teams.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to work closely with Marketing and Sales teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technology or Marketing; Master degree preferred.
  • MBA or business certificate preferred.


Location:

This position is located in Billings, MT. We encourage applications from candidates currently residing in Billings or those willing to relocate. Tactacam offers a relocation package for eligible candidates.
