Overview:

Following policies set forth by the Company, support the overall operation of the production laboratory through extraction run scheduling, laboratory staffing, employee training, equipment acquisitions and maintenance, the manufacturing of marijuana concentrates, productivity reporting, procuring input-supplies, assistance in Standard Operating Procedure development, and laboratory process documentation.

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate the manufacturing of marijuana concentrates through cannabis extraction and refinement methods
  • Accountable for ensuring the Extraction Team and Laboratory Staff meet the demand, quantity, and quality of output in-line with Company objectives through the development of Extraction Run scheduling and execution of post-processing.
  • Development and implementation of laboratory staffing and schedule that satisfies required labor dictated by production demands
  • Evaluate and utilize all Company resources to provide new employee orientation and training program
  • Monitor and advise on solutions to improve departmental efficiency and productivity
  • Ascertain all necessary equipment required for the efficient manufacturing of cannabis concentrates and infused products
  • Responsible for the maintenance and safe operating procedures of all laboratory equipment
  • Scheduling and completion of all necessary equipment calibration by licensed professionals
  • Acquire and maintain sufficient input-supply levels to ensure the performance of daily operations
  • Hypothesize, formulate, and oversee the completion of Research & Development experiments
  • Assist in the development of Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensure all standards for processing procedures and production protocols are followed by subordinate staff
  • Establish and implement an effective quality control program
  • Oversee thorough laboratory process documentation in internal databases
  • Collection of Laboratory output data and generation of production reports
  • Accountable for the facilitation and oversight of laboratory inspections, scheduled or otherwise, by any and all regulatory agencies
  • Responsible for assisting in the development of any Plans of Correction that result from regulatory inspections
  • Maintain operations in compliance with Department of Taxation regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal billing or licensing requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Capability to safely operate all production specific equipment
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, management, vendors, governmental agencies, community members, and the public.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes, and organizational rules, regulations, directives, and standard operating procedures.
  • Must comply with all safety guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals.
  • Skill in detecting problems, identifying resolutions, projecting the outcome of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations in support of company objectives and goals.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications, and electronic mail.
  • Flexible work schedule required; to include covering a vacant shift and/or facility issues in emergency situations as needed.
  • Represent the company professionally when communicating or interacting with all local community, state, or federal officials.
  • Observe and maintain all safety procedures and protocols

Additional Functions:

  • Ability to be flexible and work in various sectors of the department or company as needed and/or requested by their direct supervisor.
  • Ability to use initiative and independent judgment appropriately.
  • Ability to apply appropriate public relations skills in various situations and circumstances and to facilitate change as needed.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
  • Must be proficient in Windows based software and point of sale applications.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret, understand, and comply with complex statutes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes, and organizational rules, regulations, directives, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications, and electronic mail.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must pass any and all required background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with discipline in Management or Science preferred
  • Previous laboratory operations experience preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience.

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, sitting, bending, twisting and repetitive motions.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 40 pounds (100 pounds with assistance)
  • Must be able to tolerate dusty, strong smelling marijuana odors, and be able to tolerate exposure to the product.
