POSITION SUMMARY — Monitor and audit all departments to ensure company products are meet or exceed the quality requirements of our vendors and customers. Drive all APQP and PPAP related activities for specific customers. Help to maintain all necessary IATF 16949 certifications. WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSComply with all internal processes and policies and all environmental and safety protocolsContribute input to customer auditsConduct tier-internal assessments and internal auditsIssue Material Complaint Notices MCN’s to supply baseEnsure containment of suspect and non-conforming productWork with research and development through problem solving activitiesVerify effective corrective action and replicationDevelop internal processesNew product launchesPlan, execute and submit PPAP packages to customers for approval, monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiencyAnalyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staffCreate and implement inspection and testing criteria or proceduresTrack defects, test results, or other regularly reported quality control dataIdentify critical points in the manufacturing process and specify sampling procedures to be used at these pointsIdentify quality problems or areas for improvement and recommend solutionsInstruct staff in quality control and analytical proceduresInstruct vendors and contractors on quality guidelines, testing procedures, or ways to eliminate deficienciesMonitor development of new products to help identify possible problems for mass productionParticipate in the development of product specificationsProduce reports for nonconformance of products or processes, daily production, root cause analysis, or quality trendsReview and update standard operating procedures and quality assurance manualsCollect and analyze production samples to evaluate qualityCoordinate the selection and implementation of quality control equipment such as inspection gaugesEvaluate new testing and sampling methodologies or technologies to determine usefulnessReview statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay current on issues in the field of quality controlStop production if serious product defects are presentAbility to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customersMaintain and support the environmental policy with deployment, governance of the policy and processes, evaluation and taking action for process improvementSKILLS & ABILITIESAbility to make critical decisions with potential high business impact results Strong analytical skills Customer/client focused Ability to use critical thinking to solve a problem while dealing with many other issues simultaneously Knowledge of Advance Product Quality Planning APQP and participationKnowledge of Production Part Approval Process PPAPKnowledge of IATF 16949 POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related fieldExperience: Minimum of three years of related experienceComputer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient using Microsoft Office, Minitab, Solid Works, Auto CAD, PCDimus or CMM related programming; Ability to utilize vendor and customer software programsCertificates & Licenses: Professional certification through the American Society for Quality ASQ and/or Certified ISO auditor preferred Other Requirements: Six Sigma training preferred
