POSITION SUMMARY – Primary duty is to operate the following equipment including but not limited to, Extrusion Saw, Metlsaw, B & O Saw, Cerlobathe bender, Miter Saw, Punch Press, Flat Bed Lasers, and Age Oven. WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSFeed the necessary raw materials or parts to semi-automated machinesComplete daily machine check sheets and production recordingTend to the machine and product to ensure quality and proper operationEnsure quality parts are being produced by making frequent quality checks Perform typical machine shop and mold press operations to support the assembly floorDetect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisorPerform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required Perform the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding and all bench operators and inspect, outer production, calculate run-outs, pieces from run-out, scrapMaintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules, and regulations Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customersSupport the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings. SKILLS & ABILITIESBasic mathematical skillsAbility to read and comprehend blueprintsUnderstanding of calipers, micrometers, and tape measures Ability to properly check materials visually as well as using tools Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-upAbility to work effectively in a team environment Effectively communicate Quality driven and have good housekeeping habitsWorking knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools needed POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred Experience: One year of manufacturing and/or machine experience preferred Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy Certificates & Licenses: Must pass and maintain written and driving test for forklift certification as well as crane training
