Dedicated Nursing Associates is Hiring a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) Near Deer Park, MD

Dedicated Nursing Associates, a medical staffing firm, has current openings for Geriatric Nursing Assistants (GNAs) in the Deer Park, MD area. If you are experienced in providing quality care to those who need assistance, we want you on our team! Occupational Summary:

Perform a variety of selected patient care tasks under the direction of the charge nurse to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.

Reports To: Charge Nurse or Nursing Supervisor

Supervises: None

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
  • Certified/Registered as a Nursing Assistant in the state of practice.
  • Has passed the Geriatric Nursing Assistant examination and is certified as a GNA.
  • Minimum of six months experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Participate in patient care assessments.
  • Assist patients in maintaining optimum nutritional status.
  • Assist patients in maintaining optimum bowel and bladder functions.
  • Assist patients in participating in therapeutic activities.
  • Assist in the development of patient treatment plans.
  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with treatment plans as directed by the Nursing supervisor/Nurse manager.
  • Demonstrate understanding of and utilize proper infection control policies/practices.
  • Accompany patients as needed to various activities and functions.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Participate in the restorative nursing program.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment for patients.
  • Act in compliance with all corporate, state, federal, and other regulatory standards.
  • Attend meetings and in-service sessions as directed.
  • Access continuing education opportunities as appropriate to discipline to maintain clinical currency.
  • Participate in the quality improvement process by responding appropriately to the results of medical records audits, patient satisfaction surveys, safety activities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the quality improvement committee/activities as requested and promote quality improvement.
  • Will participate in the facility safety program and assist in promoting awareness of safety issues
  • Will participate in the Facility Safety Committee, as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
