SUMMARY:

Application Support Specialist is responsible for helping internal users with an internally developed application for employee benefits administration. All requests for help come from internal users located in several states. A good application support specialist has the ability to listen to user issues, identify and correct the problem. Analytical ability to help users solve their own problems and train them on proper processes going forward. This is not a call center position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to understand and reproduce a reported issue

• Identify steps to resolve the problem

• Ability to create system requirements to solve the problem in the future

• Track open issues

• Work with system architects as a system subject matter expert to develop system requirements for future software releases

• Be a resource for training department developing appropriate company training on using system.

• Must have the ability to work well with others and sometimes in stressful situations

• Must be able to communicate both verbally and written

• Must understand data and data types

• Must be able to use a data editor

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Associates Degree in Information Systems – preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems - desired

• Must have worked in a professional setting before
