Opening – Science Teacher

Position: PLTW Biomedical Sciences Teacher for High School

Date of Vacancy: Begin the 2023-2024 School Year (August 2023)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Education
• Indiana License in Biology or Life Science
• PLTW Biomedical Sciences Certification Preferred
• Experienced in the use of educational technology
• Great organization and communication skills

Performance Responsibilities:

• Implement all of DCCS policies as they relate to the classroom.
• Support the mission, vision and goals of DCCS and SDHS.
• Design, implement and assess curriculum consistent with state standards.
• Encourage students to think critically and be independent learners through hands-on inquiry based laboratory experiments and projects.
• Supervise students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.
• Coordinate Biomedical Sciences curriculum with colleagues.
• Willing to continue education for needed certifications.
• Work with colleagues to gather & review data that reflects efficacy of instruction and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Correlate learning activities with instructional objectives and with the maturity and academic level of the students.
• Establish and maintain parent-teacher communications when necessary through conference and phone calls.

Pay Rate: As per current Teacher’s Contract
