Deans Professional Services is Hiring a Credentialing Specialist 1 Near Austin, TX

Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring qualified, patient-care-focused Credentialing Specialist 1 to work for a Hospital Facility in TX. Remote

Credentialing Specialist 1 are responsible for supporting the prior authorization request to ensure all authorization requests are addressed properly and in the contractual timeline. Aids utilization management team to document authorization requests and obtain accurate and timely documentation for services related to the members healthcare eligibility and access.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Verifies and maintains all network, individual and/or facility/ancillary providers’ information. 
  • Monitors disciplinary actions, and follows up accordingly. 
  • Corresponds with licensing board, hospitals, certification agencies, training programs and medical groups to resolve any issues. Ensures and maintains overall accuracy of credentialing database. 
  • Gathers data, builds/runs reports, and sends out updates. 
  • Corresponds with licensing board, hospitals, certification agencies, training programs and medical groups, practitioners, office staff, provider network administrators, contracting and management to resolve issues. 
  • May review and identify credentialing or re-credentialing practitioners, including verifications of correspondence, data entry, etc., in accordance with company policies and procedures. 
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, policies and procedures, summarizes, analyzes and makes notations in reports for feedback to groups and for distribution to management and Credentialing Committee. Assists in the preparation of file reports and binders for monthly Credentialing Committee meetings, including pre-and post-Committee functions. 
  • Assists on internal projects to obtain follow-up information as requested by Credentialing Committee or Peer Review Teams. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Required.
  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related field preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Ability to type 35 wpm; Utilize multiple systems at once; Data interpretation. Required.
  • Credentialing experience within a health plan setting. Required.
  • Looking for experience with: Primary Source Verification, NCQA, Board Certification Verification, Medical Malpractice, Credentialing Committee. Required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and windows-based applications. Required.
  • Excel, Outlook, MS Word. Required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred.
  • High-level of confidentiality. Preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail. Preferred.

Job Details:

  • Schedule varies; Typically M-F between 8am -5pm CST. No OT required.
  • Must reside in TX. Remote
  • $16-$20/hr Starting (Based on Experience) benefits
  • Must reside in Texas. Remote. 
  • Full benefits – healthcare, dental, vision, 401k program
  • Temp-to-Hire opportunity
  • Outpatient facility
