School Attorney/Labor Relations Specialist
LOCATION:
BOCES Wide
REPORTS:
District Superintendent
TERMS:
Full-time, 12 months
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of Juris Doctorate and admission to the NYS Bar, with at least three years of experience as a practicing attorney; experience in collective bargaining or otherwise representing and counseling employers. Experience advising public sector employers and familiarity with the operations of school districts. Excellent verbal and writing skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:
Negotiates with bargaining units and advises school district administrators on matters concerning employee relations. Plans and controls the daily operations of the Human Resource office. Participates in development of BOCES and BOCES Board of Education objectives, policies, personnel philosophy and strategic planning. Oversees disciplinary proceedings, investigations of employment discrimination claim.
