PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT
Growing commercial real estate property management company is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Property Accountant position. This position will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of real estate by maintaining financial records, analyzing data, and providing valuable financial insights to property management and owners.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for each property managed, including recording rent payments, tracking expenses and processing invoices from vendors.
· Preparation of financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets and cash flow reports, to provide property owners and management with insight into the financial performance of the properties.
· Working closely with property managers to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing historical data and market trends to make informed predictions about the property’s financial performance.
· Month end accruals.
· Tenant billings.
· Assist Property Management in the collection of tenant rent, by providing up-to-date and accurate information on Tenant accounts receivable.
· Completion of Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
· Participation in financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
· Maintaining vendor relationships by processing timely payments and responding to inquiries.
· Ability to abstract Management Agreements to allow for appropriate billing of Management Fees.
· Communicate and Collaborate with Property Managers, Owners, and other stakeholders to address financial inquiries, provide insights and discuss financial plans.
· Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
· Accounting Experience: 2-5 years, preferably in property management or real estate
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
· Effective communication and collaboration skills
· Strong self-drive to meet deadlines and provide timely responses with minimal direction
· Ability to problem solve
· Microsoft Excel: 2 years
· Yardi (preferred)
· Nexus (preferred)
