Our Company:

Colonial Gardens, located in Blue Springs, MO, was added to our brand family in 2016. Founded in 1969, renovations began in 2017 to create an agritourism destination. It is the garden center, reimagined! We offer a greenhouse, nursery, café and coffee shop, event space, and farmer’s market. It’s where plants, food and farms connect. Educational classes promoting local agriculture and sustainability as well as private events are also offered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Lead, manage, and hold accountable the staff of landscape/design departments and partner with all other management to execute successful operations across all departments.
• Design Sales & Revenue Generation: Design, sell, and implement designed landscape projects through management of the Services department.
• Customer Satisfaction & Project Management: Serve as the main point of contact for clients during all phases of landscape projects, ensuring exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Profitability: Responsible for Profit & Loss (P&L) performance for department with a focus on expense control, proper proposal writing, and bottom-line performance.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Proven experience in designing, selling, and implementing landscape projects, with a focus on meeting revenue targets and business objectives.
• Passion for regenerative design and sustainable practices, with a dedication to maximizing labor efficiency and exploring innovative industry trends.
• Strong leadership abilities to effectively lead and manage staff in landscape and design departments, fostering teamwork, accountability, and creativity.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to serve as the main point of contact for clients and ensure their satisfaction throughout all project phases.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment with a positive attitude and adaptable mindset.
• Ability to implement change as needed with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Required: 3 years of experience in landscape design, sales, and project management or in related titles (Landscape construction foreman, associate designer, or landscape project manager, etc.)
• Required: 3 years of experience in team management
• Required: Valid driver’s license
• Preferred: BA in Horticulture, BS in Landscape Architecture
• Bilingual in English & Spanish is a plus
