DCA Outdoor is Hiring a Crew Leader (Cafe) Near Springs, MO

Colonial Gardens, located in Blue Springs, MO, was added to our brand family in 2016. Founded in 1969, renovations began in 2017 to create an agritourism destination. It is the garden center, reimagined! We offer a greenhouse, nursery, café and coffee shop, event space, and farmer’s market. It’s where plants, food and farms connect. Educational classes promoting local agriculture and sustainability as well as private events are also offered.

The Café Crew Leader role is to deliver a superior experience for our customers within the café, food events, and market sales space in the Garden Center. To provide an efficient, productive, exemplary customer service, while maintaining quality and safety of the food and beverages spaces. They will work closely in a lead role with staff members, overseeing scheduling, monitoring productivity, and providing feedback to ensure that staff are providing the best experience possible to customers.

They need to be passionate about regenerative agriculture and the food produced from our market gardens, livestock operations and food partners. A passion for the food service industry, farm-to-table experiences, and working to building relationships with customers, employees and peers is important in this role. This is a customer facing role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • LMA - Lead, manage, and hold Crew Members accountable within assigned area.
  • Execution of Processes & Adherence to Policies - Managing the flow of guests, tables, events, and customer service. Implement processes to streamline service and impact the overall customer experience. Protect the establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, alcohol, and company policies wherever our food service interacts with our customers.
  • Customer Experience and Sales – Set example for staff by using interpersonal skills to create an inviting atmosphere for guests and maximize the opportunity for sales during those interactions.
  • Food & Beverage Knowledge - Educate customers and staff about food and beverage served at cafe and carried in our market. Continuous education to expand knowledge of all items offered, understanding of seasonality of product, and services offered through our café and food operations.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Maintain quality standards of customer experience.
  • Maintain cleaning, stocking – café, and upkeep schedules.
  • Participate in food and beverage preparation in support of café, events, and market production operations.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Aid in events, marketing opportunities, as needed.
  • Support customer service, front-end operations when needed.
  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with restaurant and general POS systems

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required: High Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: 1 year food industry management experience
  • Experience working in sales or service environments.
  • Experience working with restaurant POS systems
  • Required: Food Handlers, Liquor Serving Permit
  • Experience working in food production environments.
