DC MD VA Security Service is Hiring a Security Officer - Washington, DC Near Washington, DC

FULL TIME AND PART TIME UNARMED SECURITY OFFICERS NEEDED - S/O

Compensation: Starting at 18.00$ per hour; DOE

Employment type: CONTRACT - 1099

We are seeking reliable and experienced Unarmed Security Officers in Washington DC area for Hotel security. Selected individuals will patrol and secure assigned premises as well as identify risks to staff and patrons.

Full Time and Part Time contract positions are available immediately. Pay rate for these positions are $18.00-$19.00 per hour, depending on experience.

The available position is:

  • Monday - Sunday 11:00pm - 7:00am (8 hours)
  • Monday - Sunday 4:00pm - 12:00pm (8 hours)
  • Monday - Sunday 12:00am - 8:00am (8 hours)
  • Thursday - Sunday 8:00pm - 4:00am (8 hours)

*CANDIDATES THAT DO NOT HAVE AN UNARMED/ARMED DCJS CREDENTIALS OR S/O - SPO CREDENTIALS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AND DO NOT NEED TO APPLY*

Candidates that are applying for the position, MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS. This is an absolute requirement. Applicants who can’t work weekends and holidays will not be considered and need not apply.

Additional Information:

Candidates must also be available "on-call." Health insurance benefits will be offered for qualifying candidates after a minimum of a 180 day probationary period. The Company will also pay for the successful candidate's training to obtain additional licenses (MOAB de-escalation training, DCJS Advanced Handgun training, DCJS Patrol Rifle training, etc.). Candidates who posses these certifications already are highly desired.

Candidates must have strong customer service skills and MUST work well with others and in a team environment. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills and be friendly and outgoing, while maintaining strict boundaries with client staff and visitors. Candidates must have an aptitude for helping others.

Candidates must be technologically and computer savvy and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, Phone Apps, etc.
Candidates must also have a minimum of 3 years of prior public safety experience in law enforcement, the military, or corrections. Applications received without verifiable evidence of sufficient prior experience will not be considered. Applicants must also have a stable work history (no "job-hopping") and be prepared to justify gaps in employment history (if applicable).

Candidates MUST have a clean driving and criminal record, no exceptions. Applicants with excessive traffic violations or any at-fault accidents within the past 36 months on their Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will not be considered for employment that require operating with the Motor Vehicle.

Successful candidates must also pass a pre-employment drug screening. Applicants who fail to disclose relevant driving record and/or criminal record information in their application will be automatically disqualified upon the company's thorough background investigation.

Responsibilities:

Greet patrons.

Be able to stand or sit for 8-12 hours.

Security check.

Threat detection.

Perimeter patrols - foot patrols.

Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.

Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security.

Warn violators of premise rules and regulations.

Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.

Report any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes.

Request emergency personnel for high risk situations.

Qualifications:
Must have a current and valid unarmed DCJS license.
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields.
Familiarity with security equipment.
Ability to handle physical workload.

Active Unarmed/Armed Virginia Security License (DCJS).

Active S/O License.

Active SPO License.

Reliably commute to job location.
