dbhutah is Hiring a Psychiatric Nurse (RN/LPN) On-Call/PRN - 16 hours/week Guaranteed Near Layton, UT

Job Description:

Davis Behavioral Health is seeking three (3) part-time Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join the part-time/PRN nursing team in all of nursing programs at DBH: Davis County Receiving Center located in Layton, Utah, the medication clinics located at the Layton Campus and at the Main Street Clinic on the Kaysville/Layton border, and the adult mental health residential program in Layton, Utah. DBH staff may also be expected to perform other duties as assigned by their immediate supervisor or the DBH management team.
Schedule
Nursing shifts at DBH consist of days, swings, and graveyards, so the successful candidate must have flexibility to provide coverage when needed.
The successful candidates will be hired to fill one of the schedules below. The expectation is that the part-time/PRN nurses be available to work any shift on the days that they are scheduled to cover. If the part-time/PRN nurses are not scheduled to cover another employee's shift on the days that they are on-call, they will report to the CRU and may work in either that program or the Receiving Center to get their minimum guaranteed hours. The every third Saturday on-call shift will be on-call and the part-time/PRN nurses will only work if called in or scheduled for coverage beforehand.
  • Monday 5:00 am to Tuesday 5:00 am & Tuesday 5:00 am to Wednesday 5:00 am Every Third Sunday 5:00 am to Monday 5:00 am
  • Friday 5:00 am to Saturday 5:00 am & Saturday 5:00 am to Sunday 5:00 am Every Third Sunday 5am to Monday 5am
  • Wednesday 5:00 am to Thursday 5:00 am & Thursday 5:00 am to Friday 5:00 am Every Third Sunday 5am to Monday 5am
The successful candidates are only required to work 12 hours in a 24-hour period.

In addition, part-time/PRN nurses may be requested to work outside of their scheduled days to assist with coverage.

The shifts in each program are outlined below:
Davis County Receiving Center (Layton, UT)
  • 5:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • 5:00 pm - 5:00 am
Residential Mental Health (Layton, UT)
  • 5:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • 5:00 pm - 5:00 am
Medication Management Clinics (Layton, UT; Kaysville/Layton Border, UT)
  • 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Monday - Friday)
Compensation
The successful candidate(s) will be offered a base rate based on post-licensure experience.
The starting hourly rate for newly-licensed registered nurses is $33.00. The exact starting rate for RNs at DBH is calculated using the starting rate 1% per year for each year of post-licensure experience up to 10 years and an additional 1% for each additional 3 years thereafter. The starting hourly rate for newly-licensed Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) is $26.00 per hour with the same credited service as described above.
The part-time/PRN nurses will be compensated at their base rate for the guaranteed 24 hours each week. If scheduled to provide coverage beyond the 24 hours, the following pay rates are in place:
PRN Rate
  • A nurse hired to work in a PRN capacity will receive a 15% adjustment to the base rate agreed upon at hire for all PRN shifts where he/she is given at least 24 hours of notice before the shift.
  • For example, a registered nurse hired at a base hourly rate of $33 would receive a PRN rate of $37.95 per hour.
Emergency Rate
  • A PRN nurse called in to cover a shift with less than 24 hours of notice will be compensated at 1 ½ times their PRN rate.
  • For example, a registered nurse hired at a base hourly rate of $33 would receive an emergency rate of $56.93 per hour.
  • The emergency rate is used as a last resort and requires executive management approval.
Shift Differentials
Employees working during the swing shift (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm) will receive a 2% shift differential. Staff working during the graveyard shift (11:00 pm to 7:00 am) or any weekend shift (Saturday 12:00 am to Monday 12:00 am) will receive a 15% shift differential.
