Required Qualifications:This position requires a high school diploma or GED.Six (6) months of recent and verifiable commercial lawn maintenance experience is also required. A valid Florida Driver’s License is required to drive College vehicles when necessary. Candidate must have their own transportation to report to other college campuses as assigned. Must be able to be forklift certified within one year.

Preferred Qualifications: Tree trimming experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesThis is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.

  • Mows, cuts, trims, edges, weeds and maintains College grounds. Operates lift/bucket truck to trim trees up to 30’. Performs other landscaping tasks as directed.
  • Operates blower to clear debris from sidewalks, parking lots and other areas.
  • Maintains plants by weeding and spraying with pesticides and fertilizers. Plants shrubbery, trees, and flowers. Prunes and trims trees and shrubbery.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Requires walking, standing, stooping, stretching, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting all of the time, exerting at least 20 pounds of force on a recurring basis.
  • Must be able to be exposed to outdoor temperatures, hot and cold.
  • Must be able to follow oral/written communications.
  • Must have computer knowledge to be able to clock in/clock out, and view personnel related information (paycheck, W-2, etc.).
