School Psychologist

Description
The School Psychologist works with parents, students and educational teams to identify academic and behavioral challenges; interpret data; prescribe intervention strategies; provide extensive and relevant psycho-educational evaluations; and collaborate with building and district teams to identify instruction needs, services, and supports.
Essential Functions
Conducts evaluations and assessments for students to determine educational needs and eligibility for special education services
Serves as a MTSS leader to assist building and district teams with identifying and implementing strategies for all tiers, including collecting and/or analyzing data to aid in decision making and program development.
Provides multi-tiered supports in the area of behavior including, but not limited to, functional behavior assessments, behavior intervention plans, small groups, interventions, PBIS, etc
Supports teachers and associated staff to promote implementation of best practices and successful teaching and behavior strategies to increase success of students with disabilities in all settings.
Participates on building level teams to develop school-wide systems to support all students
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of principals of school psychology, assessments, methods, behavior modification, etc.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Possession of leadership skills
Must hold proper licensure as a School Psychologist from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
