Columbus City Schools is Hiring a 2019-20 School Psychologist (Prospective) Near Columbus, OH

POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of a Columbus City Schools psychologist includes being responsible for the provisions of total range of school psychological services in specific assignment.

Responsibilities include:

  • implementing differential referral procedures based on Ohio’s State Support Plan;
  • evaluating students with a variety of needs and disabilities;
  • working collaboratively with school personnel and parents to identify, implement and monitor appropriate interventions;
  • serving as special education evaluation team chairperson, responsible for integrating pertinent information into a collaborative evaluation team report;
  • consulting with parents and educators regarding issues of skill development, disabilities, behavior management, academic skills, etc.;
  • participating in kindergarten screening activities;
  • responsible for monthly Medicaid case documentation;
  • responding to requests of the Supervisor or other superiors.

Other Duties:

  • presenting to staff or parent groups;
  • conducting student social skills groups;
  • conducting early entrance evaluations;
  • participating in special projects (such as CBM norming).

A number of psychologists have specialized assignments such as hearing impaired, visually impaired, orthopedically impaired, preschool or ESL students. In addition, several psychologists serve ten nonpublic (parochial) schools. School psychologists also may serve as itinerant to other nonpublic schools as part of the federally mandated Child Find.

School psychologists report directly to the Supervisor of Exceptional Children, School Psychological Services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
A School Psychology certificate/license is required.
